Works Made Faith Perfect
Works... James 2:14-26

By Works Was
Faith Made Perfect

And they were all judged every man according to their works. The works that’s written in the Lambs Book of Life, according to the Revelations of Jesus Christ 21:13. One might saw what works am I to do? Is there a written list of tasks that I am to do for my name to be written in the Book of Life, to assure my eternal life with God and Jesus, the angels, elders, and all those around the throne of God? If you know of such tasks list please share that information with me. After reading this letter with understanding, you will know all that you need to know about works, because God would not have you ignorant of works that you will be judged by. God desires that you prosper even as your soul prosper. If you are not working in the direction of heaven, you may be prospering physically, but not your soul. This letter will allow you to look back and forward at your works so at this present time you can adjust your works.
We shall first look at the works of Jesus while he was on earth (47.92 min. see letter) who rose from the dead and became the first fruit of them who sleep:1 Corinthians 15:20. Keeping in mind that he told his disciples that greater works shall they do. Saint John quoted Jesus as saying that , My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. St. John 4:34. God sent Jesus to finish the work he started in the garden, which was to free man from Satan and death. To restore mans original relationship with God, before he fell in the garden through disobedience of eating from the tree of good and evil. In the following four verse John. 4:35-38 a very clear explanation was given in a parable form. Jesus told the disciples to look out at the world as a field of souls that has been sowed or planted, that will yield its’ fruit in four months. Jesus said that the field is ready to be harvested now. Souls are ready to be save, because God has already planted is word within mans minds and hearts. Read verse 36 very carefully: And he that reapeth recieveth wages, and gathereth fruit into life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. Jesus explained to his disciples that he was sending them to reap the souls of men that prophets before them had sowed the word of God to. All of the minor and major Prophets from Moses to Malachi, teachers, preachers and even Noah that sowed the words of God after Adams fell in the garden up to that present day. In 37. Jesus quoted, and herein is that saying, one soweth, and the other reapeth. 38. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor: other men labored, and ye entered into their labors. The revelation in those verse that we want is in gathereths fruit into life eternal. If we would substitute the word win for gather, soul for fruit, and Book of Life for life eternal, it would read: Jesus was sending his disciples to reap (win souls) of those that had already been sowed (preached and taught Gods’ word ) to by others, but they will be paid, for winning(gathering) souls(fruit) to be written in the Book of Life (life eternal).
Jesus came to finish the work of his father; free man, Gods creation made in his own image that Satan had deceived and caused God to separate from with the veil in the temple of worship. When Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and yield up the ghost the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent. At that time Jesus had successfully removed the veil that separated God from man which completed part of his work. Although the veil had been removed and man was reunited with God man had to be informed of this event as well as the spiritual importance, because God is a spirit and you must worship him in spirit. Jesus gave this job to the disciples to reap the souls that they may be written in the Book of Life. He told them that they would do greater work than he had done, when it come to winning souls. At that time it seem impossible, do you remember what happened on the day the of Pentecost after the disciples received the Holy Ghost how Peter preached with power and won three thousand souls at one time. But even now God has given man television, radios, computers, satellite, and internet to do greater works of reaching people with the word of God.
We are looking for a list of works that we can do to get our name written into the Lamb’s Book of Life that assures our eternal life. Before writing that list there are some facts that are so important that I must write the exact scripture. First we can not get our name in the book by works. But we can keep on name in the book by works. Let me justify what I just wrote. The great Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians, For by grace are we saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:8-10. We must completely understand that we can not earn salvation (name being placed in the book of life) but it is a gift from God through his Son our redeemer Jesus Christ. Your name was place in the book even before you were born on earth, then covered by the veil in the temple. Jesus blood paid for your sin by the grace of God, removed the veil and through your faith your name reveled again. But you need works to complete your faith, because faith without works is dead. James 3:17, Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being along. James 3:14 What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? No, that‘s why sideline Christian will not keep their name in the book. This should make it clear why we will be judged by our works. James also explains to you that the Devil has faith and believes that Jesus is the son of God, but Abraham justified his faith by works, by offering up his son Isaac upon the altar. Seeing how faith wrought(operated) with is works, and by works(action) was faith made perfect(complete).
Now for a list of works, Rev.14:13 says that your work will follow you to Heaven. It is impossible for this letter to cover all works, but it will give you a great insight. Let’s start with preaching. Paul writes to the Romans that if you confess with your month Jesus the son of God and that he was raised from the dead thy shall be saved. He said the word is nigh thee in our mouth and heart; that is the word of faith which we preach. Paul writes Romans 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. But he ask in 14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in whom they have not heard ? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? ......17. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God. One great work is preaching the word of God. Paul writes again to the1Corinthians 1:18, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. In the book of Ephesians 4:11, Paul writes, And he(God) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastor sand teachers..12. for the perfecting (equipping) of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying(building) of the body of Christ.
Finally, let’s talk about just being a saint, a believer just a follower what should I do. Paul wrote to Titus a very small letter which after you finish this letter that you read small book of Titus which addresses Christian life, Christian citizenship, Christian ehic. He writes about the qualifications of elders or Bishop. Paul writes about Domestic Regulations for the older man to be sober (sensible) grave , temperate, sound in faith, in charity (love), patience(endurance). For the older women to teach the younger women. For the young men to be sober minded(self-controlled). In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works; sound speech, denying ungodliness and worldly lust, be subject to principles and powers(angels), obey magistrates(presidents or rulers), not to be a brawler. To define works in a single statement : We are saved by grace of God through his son Jesus by faith, and faith without works is dead. Your work is to be a witness of Jesus Christ to the world. Read Acts 1:8 the final instruction from Jesus to his disciples was to, tarry in Jerusalem until they were empower by the Holy Ghost and then be a witness for him in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and unto the parts of the earth. Be a witness of Christ in a sensible, loving, self controlled orderly manner. But remember faith only can not keep your name in the book of life ,James 2:28 For as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also.
